Frazier Community Library hosted a celebration for the young patrons who participated in the Summer Reading Programs this Summer……and for anyone who has attended our Story Hours this past year.
In June the Library hosted “Paws for Reading” for children ages 3 – first grade. Ten children participated in the “Paws” program. They received their prizes on the last day of the program.
The older readers participated in the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge. These readers ages 6-13 set a reading goal for themselves. If they met their goal they received a prize at the Summer Picnic in August. We had 20 young patrons participate and 12 who met their goal. One young lady read 30 books!
Congrats to all our young readers! We are so happy to see these children of all ages experiencing the joy of books and reading!
Our picnic was held at the playground at the Washington Run Park (formerly Sampey Park). Children played and enjoyed water balloon relays and of course……busting those water balloons! Prizes were awarded, a lunch was provided and each child received a certificate to the Dairy Queen! A great time was had by children, parents and staff!
The Library Board would like to thank Fox’s Pizza for the generous donation of pizza for this event……if was delicious and enjoyed by all.
