Young library patrons learned about John Chapman, the man…..and Johnny Appleseed, the legend!
Johnny Appleseed was an American pioneer nurseryman who
traveled throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and
West Virginia, planting apple trees from apple seeds.
An eccentric man he traveled barefoot and legend has it he
carried his cook pot on his head like a hat.
Children planted apple seeds and tasted the many ways we
enjoy the tasty apple today: apple slices with caramel, apple butter,
apple juice, and apple cider.
