The Summer Reading Challenge was a great success. We had 43 children participate in the Challenge. The program ran for two months and children set their own reading goals. 43 children participated in the challenge and 17 children reached their goals. All total 243 books were read during this reading challenge. Congratulations to all the readers!
Children celebrated their accomplishments at a picnic at St. Nicholas Pavilion. Children created windsocks, enjoyed an ice cream sundae bar and cupcakes, picked out their prizes and enjoyed jumping in the bounce houses provided by Bounce House Rentals , owned and operated by Cameron Roebuck (724/963-8470).
A fun time was had by all in attendance!
The Library would like to thank the parents for supporting us in our efforts to promote the joy and love of reading to our young patrons…..and the children……who did a fantastic job and read some really great books!
The Library would also like to thank Bounce House Rentals for their generous donation to the children’s fun! We would also like to thank Cindie A. for the cupcakes, St. Nicholas Church for the use of the Pavilion, and everyone who helped to make this program and picnic a success!
